Foods never to eat after gastic bypass surgery

I just wanted to let everyone out there know some of the foods never to eat after gastric bypass surgery. The food that I had to completely cut out of my diet was chicken. All types of chicken; baked, smothered, stuffed, barbecue, parmagiana, casseroles, you name it.

Spaghetti also seems to cause a problem, even when I chew it well enough, in my opinion. Of course you should stay away from candy and sweets too. These things are definitely sabotage to your weight loss efforts even if you are lucky enough never to experience dumping syndrome.

After my surgery I lived on eggs and mashed up vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, and squash. Sugar-free jello helped me satisfy my sweet tooth, and remember to drink enough water. It will be hard since you are not supposed to drink right before, during or right after your meals. So keep a water bottle with you and sip throughout the rest of the day. I have lost 80 pounds so far and only have 40 more punds to reach my goal. These tips work, believe me.

Spaghetti and other pasta
by: Anonymous

Spaghetti and other pasta never agreed with me after my surgery. It always makes me sick for the entire time that it's in my pouch. Once it passes then I'm fine again, but I have that uncomfortable feeling to look forward to any time I touch the stuff. And I used to love spaghetti, fettuccine, penne, ziti, rotini, you name it. But losing weight is worth the sacrifice.

Oranges
by: Anonymous

One of my friends had the gastric sleeve done and she told me that she could not eat oranges after that. Digesting grapefruit also gave her a problem. She has still not successful digested a salad without any problems. It's funny how you get this procedure to help you lose weight, you commit to eating healthier, and then find out that you can't tolerate the "good for you" foods. Well, really, it's not funny at all.
