I need to lose weight because diabetes runs in my family

I need to lose weight for several reasons. Diabetes runs in my family, with my father being recently diagnosed. I know that often times, Diabetes is preventable, and there is a higher instance for those that are overweight. Needing to lose weight is a priority for me also because of heart problems that run in my family.
One way to get one's heart healthy is to exercise on a regular basis. Just doing that will help to control my weight. I also do not like the lethargic feeling I get when I am overweight. When I weigh less, I have more energy, and a generally more positive outlook on life. This translates to better relationships with friends and family.
Another reason I want to lose weight is to fit into my clothes better. I don't want to have to go purchase a new wardrobe in order to wear clothes that fit properly. The last reason I want to lose weight is to be able to fit better into airline seats, stadium seats, the backseat of a car with friends, and all of those related items. If I'm not comfortable in the size of my seat, I know that those sitting next to me aren't comfortable either.
Losing weight is a goal of mine, and I have already started down the path to a healthier weight. Keeping the focus on that has been very helpful to me, and has taught me greater self-discipline.
