I Need to Lose Weight Because I Developed Gallstones

I need to lose weight because I developed gallstones. I didn't know what they were before being hospitalized, but I have had them for almost two years. The doctor told me that most Americans get gallstones from eating foods that are high in fat and high in cholesterol.

I could try to get rid of them with alternatives to surgery, but I have a good chance of having them recur, which I definitely don't want. I am now going to have my first medically necessary surgery in my life. All because I don't want to eat right and exercise. I am so devastated.

Now I am really leaning towards getting weight loss surgery weight loss surgery now. I have read online, and talked to many people who have had their gallbladder removed and they all have said that they've gained weight after gallbadder removal surgery. I am already morbidly obese. Where can I go from here? I am not even 35 years old yet. Something has to change.

I Had My Gallbladder Removed Too
by: Julie

I had my gallbladder removed too. It was done with a laser but I am still in a lot of pain. It feels like someone beat me up all along my right side and this is 4 days after surgery. I hope it gets better soon because my husband has to go back to work and I will be left with the kids all day by myself. Thank God for painkillers!
