Why do I need to lose weight? That is what many overweight and obese people may find themselves asking. Becoming fat can sneak up on you. The late night snacks, eating fast foods, being too tired to exercise, and the chocolate that tastes so good, all help bring us to the point of being "too big".

This dangerous weight level is not the same for every person. I am a firm believer that everyone is not meant to be skinny, but it is important for us all to be healthy. Naturally thin people may have a problem with gaining 5 pounds more than the weight zone they have set for themselves.

While other people believe that you are a healthy weight if you eat right, exercise regularly, feel good about yourself, and you are in good health. The actual weight registering on the scale is not the deciding factor.

What Is My Ideal Weight for My Height?


There is no one right answer when asking questions about what is the best weight for each individual. But what can't be ignored is the physical and emotional problems that can arise when you don't eat right and exercise. You don't have to be clinically overweight in order for poor food choices to effect your health negatively.

Weight loss surgery has helped many people rid themselves of their obesity demons, while some people have found success with a weight loss program. The decision is yours to make. Just make sure you make a well informed decision by doing the necessary research.

Do I Need to Lose Weight? Here's Some Reasons Why?


1. I need to lose weight because I'm tired of getting tired so fast.

2. I want to stop taking so many medications every day.

3. I want to feel comfortable and confident in my clothes.

4. I need to be here to raise my children and hopefully see my grandchildren.

5. I want my breasts to come out farther than my stomach.

6. I want to rid myself of type 2 diabetes.

7. I want my high blood pressure to come down to a normal level.

8. I want my knees to stop buckling when I walk up and down stairs.

9. I would like to ride a roller coaster, or amusement park ride again.

10. My child is ashamed of going out in public with me. I want that to stop.

11. I have just been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea.

12. My asthma is getting worse.

13. I am wearing the last size in the Plus-Size clothing stores.

14. I have eaten my way in to Lane Bryant sizes.

15. I have eaten my way past Lane Bryant sizes.

16. When I smile in pictures, I want people to be able to see my eyes.

17. I would love to wear sleeveless clothes, anywhere.

18. I'm tired of food being my best friend.

19. I don't want people to stare at me when I go out to eat anymore.

20.. I'm tired of my thighs rubbing together.

I Need to Lose Weight 21. I pay a ton of money on food from the grocery store, restaurants, and fast food.

22. I'm tired of squeezing in to chairs with arms on them, and then using those arms to pull myself out of them.

23. I don't want to pull myself out of the car anymore.

24. I need to lose weight because my back hurts all of the time.

25. I can't find cute shoes because of my extra-wide feet.

26. I actually broke my toilet seat. Can you believe it!

27. I feel like being too fat is ugly, even though I never thought of myself as ugly before.

40. I have to turn sideways to fit through subway turnstiles, or any turnstiles for that matter.

41. Tying my shoes always takes my breathe away, leaving me winded.

42. White plastic lawn chairs are now my enemies.

43. I need to lose weight because I am sick and tired of being FAT!

44. I need to lose weight because I hate myself.
