Morbidly Obese and not Ovulating

I have been morbidly obese my entire life. I married at 22 and at 24 had yet to be ovulating normally. No responsible doctor would even discuss fertility treatments with a women who is 5'6 and over 300 pounds. So I decided to undergo gastric bypass in June 2007. By June 2008 I weighed 139 pounds! I worked VERY VERY HARD!!!! We will be welcoming our son this Spring and although pregnancy has not been easy, and keeping my weight gain at healthy levels has been a challenge, I am so confident and excited about the journey that is upcoming!

I am so happy you are pregnant

I am so happy you are pregnant now. Babies are a wonderful gift from God and we are blessed to have them in our lives.

I am curious to know, if you don't mind. Were you able to get pregnant naturally after gastric bypass surgery or did you still need fertility treatment. My bmi is 44.3, just to give you an idea of what I look like, and me and my husband are having trouble conceiving too. I really appreciate you sharing.

Oh, and what did you do when it came to taking your glucose tolerance test? Did the doctor give you an alternative way to test for gestational diabetes? If he did the test the normal way by drinking the sweetened liquid, did you experience dumping syndrome after? Thank you sooo much for your help!
