Discrimination of Overweight People

Today some guy came up to me and told me to leave because the cement was too weak to hold me up. I wanted to scream and run away. Nobody understands what it is like. No one seems like they even care. All I receive is more and more criticism. I feel like a bug walking below everyone. Everyone just looks down upon me and doesn't even notice that I'm there.

Sometimes I feel like an elephant when EVERYONE notices me and mocks me. They don't have any compassion at all. I feel like no one wants to help or lend a supportive shoulder to cry on. I FEEL ALONE!

Keep Your Head Up
by: Anonymous

I just wanted to tell you to keep your head up! There are so many mean, inconsiderate, hateful people out there, but there are some good ones too. You may be able to find a local overeaters anonymous group. You can also volunteer your time in the community for various things. You may think that you are opening yourself up to more ridicule, but you will b surprised.

Most people who volunteer their time are very caring, patient, genuinely good people. They will appreciate your help and you may find that friend to talk to that may help you make some positive changes in your life. Even if you aren't interested in weight loss surgery at this time you should look in to any local doctors, clinics, or hospitals that offer it. They usually have free seminars at least once a month for people interested in obesity surgery. Here you will find a lot of people in the same boat as yourself and they are going through a lot of the same things. You may be able to find a few friends there.

And remember that discrimination of overweight people will probably never die completely, but how you deal with the issue can change. Think positive, love yourself, and keep your head up. You are special and you are worth something. If some ignorant strangers are unable to see that then it is their loss.
