They never said that my gas would get this bad after the gastric bypass

They never told me that my gas could smell so bad after the gastric bypass. This is ruining my life. I can't go for three whole hours without this foul smelly gas gas escaping my body and embarrassing the mess out of me! It doesn't matter where I am, when my stomach starts getting hard, cramping, and bubbling, I have to let it out. What else could I do?

Then the smell lingers, and follows me wherever I go. I know my co-workers talk about me behind my back, but I can't help it. This is causing me many emotional problems. I am so depressed. I was always a very clean woman, even when I was at my heaviest. Now I am the slim, stinky lady. The only time I feel clean is when I step out of the shower, but that is over soon. Once I put anything in my mouth for the day the disgusting smells start oozing out of my body and I am unable to control it. Sometimes I wish I was the "pretty face" fat girl again. At least I could keep myself smelling good then.

This may help

They sell a type of undergarment with activated charcoal to combat foul smelling gas. Have you tried that? I had gastric bypass 7 months ago and although I do have gas, it's nothing like this. I hope this helps!

bad gas
by: sean

Hi. I had a Gastric bypass 8 years ago . In the past 2 years the gas has got alot worse. I know what you are going through. It is so bad that i can clear out a movie theater with one fart. I stopped eating vegetables and any fatty foods, this has helped somewhat. But when Igo out and eat vegan products such as veg burgers I get the gas again. Beno and the Gas x does not work. I tried everything but I'm thinner and happier since I had the surgery 8 years ago.

I've also started having terrible heartburn and I can't eat chips or any salty products any more. So now I have cut out of my diet Salt, soda, vegetables, candy, high sugar and fatty foods, ice cream, and fried foods. I eat a lot of egg whites which give me horrific gas. I also have been eating a bunch of pasta and bread.

I have gained 40 pounds back in 8 years. I have lost 160 pounds overall though. I have to take the carbs out of my diet. But as for you, hang in there. I got married 5 months ago and my wife puts up with the smell. I know it can be brutal But it's life. Just keep trying to follow your diet and stay away from veggies, beans, and gassy products. I feel bad for you
by: Zion

I feel bad for you. I had a girl that I worked with have the same problem as you. She would walk around with an air freshener with her at all times. She told everyone at work about her problem and tried to seem as if she was okay with it, but how could you be? That has to be mortifying! But she did it on a daily basis. I give you and her both a lot of credit for going on with your lives in spite of your complications. I hope you find an answer that will resolve this for you.
