Weight Loss after Childbirth

I need to lose weight because four weeks ago I gave birth to my first child, a baby girl. The doctor has finally given me the go ahead to starting trying to exercise. When I was pregnant with her I gained more than I wish I would have. I gained about forty pounds on top of the seven pounds I gained the month before I became pregnant with her.

The extra weight has made it nearly impossible for me to wear my pre-pregnancy clothes and I’m too afraid to buy any new clothes because I don’t want to spend a lot of money and then loose the weight and have to buy more. In turn, I end up wearing sweatpants and baggy shirts even when I go to the store or to appointments. I would like to get into shape again before my daughter is crawling so I can chase after her all day long to insure her safety.

I would also like to do it for myself because I just don’t feel attractive. Like every other person who has a few pounds on them that I know I cannot wear good looking clothes because I’m simply too big to wear them.

Give yourself a break

You should give yourself a break. You just had a baby and it is going to take time to lose the baby weight. Just make sure you are eating healthy and gradually resume your exercise routine. Go slow and get your rest. Those first few months are very hectic.
