What is weight loss?

Everybody is talking about losing weight nowadays. The real need to lose weight is to stay fit and healthy throughout life. In the modern day and age there is a lot of junk food available in the market. And let's face it, fast food costs less than fresh, healthy food. This is especially true if you are trying to eat on the run.

Most households have all adults over the age of 21 working so there is less time to cook and eat normal healthy food at home. So what do we turn to? Fried, unhealthy food on the roadside, in restaurants, or fast food carts and stands tend to put on a lot of pounds even if we eat a small portion.

Also with our life style, we travel by vehicles or are sitting in the office all day long so there is very little exercise that we get and that adds to obesity and being overweight. When you carry around too many extra pounds you become lethargic, get tired fast, and also your risk of health problems due to obesity increase. These ailments include high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, arthritis etc.. Right from childhood, if a person controls his diet habits and exercises regularly then when he grows up he would not have to starve himself to diet, lose weight, or need weight loss surgery.

What is weight loss effects on your career?

Your appearance and weight even have a role in getting good jobs in corporate America. A person has to maintain his weight and look presentable, or else, he would not get a good position, or may not get the promotion or position they are going after. You can not tell what is in a person's head, how smart they are, or the brilliance of their ideas just by looking at them on the outside. But if you are morbidly obese chances are no one really sees you in any capacity at all. You deserve better than that, if only for yourself.
